Managing application installations during phased device deployment
While a utilities are deploying DI-capable devices, they may want to take specific steps to ensure DI applications are installed on the appropriate devices in the field.
Managing application installations intended for all devices

For the installation, target the automatically-generated All <tenant name> Devices group. This group automatically includes all devices that have been discovered in the network and have reported at least once to the scheduled DI Interrogation.

On a desired schedule (for example, daily, weekly, monthly, or other), repeat installation jobs targeting the All <tenant name> Devices group. The EAC automatically drops any devices that already have the application installed, so only devices added since the last installation and devices that failed earlier installations will be included in the new job.
Managing application installations intended for a subset of devices

Create a device group for the target devices. For more information, see Organizing devices into groups.

For the installation, target the created device group.

On a desired schedule (for example, daily, weekly, monthly, or other), verify and update the device group membership. For more information, see Editing a device group.

Repeat installation jobs targeting the created device group. The EAC automatically drops any devices that already have the application installed, so only devices added since the last installation and devices that failed earlier installations will be included in the new job.
