Filtering Lists

Many FDM lists can contain large numbers of items that can be difficult to manage without some way to limit them to the items you want to work with. FDM gives you the ability to use list filtersfor this purpose. A list filter lets you limit the display of items in the list to those that meet criteria or conditions you specify.

Itron implementation personnel typically install a set of standard FDM list filters that can be customized to meet the needs of each utility. Standard filters exist for most FDM lists (for more information, see Standard Filters).

Two FDM lists—the Invoicing/Rev Rec’s invoices list and the Inventory workbench’s physical counts list—have simple filters that let you filter those lists based on a standard, invariable selection of common and useful criteria.

In contrast to these simple filters, most FDM list filters feature filter editors that you can use to create and save your own custom filters and modify existing ones. Only users with Modify Standard Filters permission can modify standard (as opposed to custom) FDM filters, and you cannot use a filter editor to create a new standard filter. For information about importing and creating standard filters, see Standard Filters.
