Device Group Import CSV file format

To create or edit a static device group, the EAC requires a Device Group Import CSV file with the following properties:

  • The file extension must be .csv.

  • The first row must have only the text name.

  •  All following rows must have one valid device's full serial number.

To easily get a CSV file in the proper Device Group Import format, export an existing device group as a Device Group Import CSV file and then modify the ESNs to include only the devices you want. All utility roles have permissions to perform this task.

  1. On a Devices / Device Group page (displays details of one device group), click Download Device Group File.

    The EAC queues the creation of the CSV file. The file name uses the format <group name>-download-<time stamp>.csv...

    ...where <groupname> is the name of device group and where <time stamp> is the time stamp, in Unix seconds, when the file was created by the EAC.

  2. Navigate to the Exports page by clicking Exports in the navigation menu.

    The Exports page displays all the exports you have requested. Exports are user specific. The Exports page is available to all utility roles.

  3. When export's status is Completed, click the name to download the file to your computer (at your browser's default location).
