Approving application versions for deployment

Utility Testers must approve application versions before Utility Managers can install the version on devices. Version approval incorporates the following tasks:

  1. Utility Managers or Utility Testers submit an application version to Utility Testers for review. For more information, see Submitting an application version for utility tester review.

  2. Utility Testers identify the application versions to review. For more information, see Selecting an application version to evaluate.

  3. Utility Testers assess the application version. This assessment is outside the scope of this document. However, it would likely involve installing the version on a select set of meters in a utility meter shop or other controlled environment and verifying that performance and functionality are acceptable.

  4. Utility Testers approve or deny the application version. For more information, see Approving or denying an application version.
