Notifications
FDM notifications automatically deliver timely, critical information in email messages to subscribers—FDM server users and interested non-users. A system administrator or a system user with Modify Notifications permission can set up and subscribe users to any of the available FDM notifications. There are three notification types:
- Trigger notifications. Simple email messages that immediately notify subscribers upon the success or failure of critical file imports and exports.
- Daily notifications. Email messages with summaries that notify subscribers when daily exception and inventory thresholds are exceeded.
- Weekly notifications. Email messages with weekly file import/export and work order summaries.
Use the System Administration workbench’s Notifications view to specify which notifications you want the system to generate for your project and to configure the timing and frequency of daily and weekly notifications. Then you can subscribe individual users to selected notifications through the Notifications tab of the User Identities details pane (for more information, see User Identities). In addition, FDM must be configured to work with your organization’s email server, which is normally done during installation by the server client installer application (for more information, see Installing the FDM Server Client Software). You can also configure those settings, if necessary, through the System Settings view (for more information, see System Settings ).
